M2E-1000 MPEG2 Encoder

Introduction

M2E-1000 is a cost effective MPEG2 Distribution Encoder for broadcast environments with 4:2:2 SDI input and DVB-ASI outputs and IP/Ethernet outputs and remote web-based network management.

M2E-1000 is a professional MPEG2 and DVB compliant encoder for digital video broadcast encoding applications. Packaged in a 19” wide 1RU rack mounted chassis, M2E-1000 accepts both analog and digital video along in 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 format and Teletext with AES/EBU stereo audio using Main Profile. The compressed data is output in both DVB-ASI and RTP/UDP/IP/Ethernet formats.

The unit compresses the incoming video using MPEG2 Main Profile @ Main Level (MP@ML), achieving constant bit rate in the range of 1-25 Mbps and variable bit rate in the range of 0.3-25 Mbps. The M2E-1000 performs real-time audio/video encoding and multiplexing to generate DVB compliant transport stream and MPEG2-TS over IP. Compliance with industry standards such as DVB ensures compatibility with a wide range of applications such as distribution, contribution, terrestrial and satellite broadcasts, Field/Satellite News Gathering (FNG/ENG/SNG), Surveillance and Security, etc. For network streaming applications, M2E-1000 performs real-time Unicast and Multicast MPEG2-TS broadcast that can be used for real-time video sharing and conferencing.

User interface for monitoring, controlling and configuring the M2E-1000 is provided via the front panel and network. The network control panel provides menus for remote control, configuration and monitoring of the M2E-1000 using any web browser.
